Aggravated burglary in Knutsford

Detectives investigating an aggravated burglary at a house in Knutsford on Wednesday evening are appealing for witnesses.

On Wednesday 12th October 2011 a 43-year-old man was at home in Warren Avenue with his wife, and six year-old-son when there was a knock at the door. His wife answered it and he then heard shouting and his wife screaming.

He went into the hallway and saw two men wearing balaclavas. The men had sprayed his wife in the face with an unknown substance.

One of the offenders, who had a machete, then punched him a number of times to his head and face, forcing him into the living room. His wife was also dragged into the living room.

The man’s wedding ring and watch were taken along with his wife’s jewellery taken from her fingers.

The second offender made a search of the bedrooms they took more jewellery and made off. No vehicle was seen or heard.

The first man is described as wearing a balaclava with eye and mouth holes.

The second is described as wearing a fluorescent mask to hide his face and had a hooded top.
